Advanced Hearing Solutions, Inc. is an independent audiology clinic that treats a wide range of hearing problems, from mild to severe hearing loss, tinnitus (ringing or buzzing in the ears), and loss of ability to discriminate sounds. We offer complete and thorough diagnostic evaluation of your hearing using the latest and most sophisticated audiometric testing equipment; selection and fitting of hearing aids if they are appropriate for your type of hearing loss; treatment regimens for tinnitus; assistive listening devices for use with television (“TV Ears”) or telephone; “brain fitness training” to improve auditory discrimination;tympanometry; and other hearing care services such as noise protection and removal of excess buildup of cerumen (wax) in your ears.
Dr. Noël Crosby
Our clinic is headed by Dr. Noël Crosby, who has been an audiologist for over 26 years. She is a magna cum laude graduate of Florida State University, where she also completed her masters degree, and she earned her doctorate in clinical audiology from the University of Florida. She was on the inaugural board of the Florida Academy of Audiology, served as its president in 2000 and 2009.
Dr. Crosby worked at Sarasota’s Silverstein Institute for 14 years, for the last six of which she was Director of Audiology. While there she established the Institute’s cochlear implant program as well as Sarasota Memorial Hospital’s infant hearing screening program. In 2006 she established her own clinic. Because she operates independently of any hearing aid manufacturer, Dr. Crosby can provide her patients with unbiased evaluations and fit them with whatever hearing devices might best suit their individual needs. She has fitted hearing aids from a wide range of manufacturers, including Phonak, Oticon, Widex, Siemens, Rexton, and many more.
A founding member of her local Hearing Loss Association of America (HLAA), Dr. Crosby has also served on the board of directors of the Deaf Service Center of Manatee and Sarasota counties. She is a member of the American Academy of Audiology, Academy of Doctors of Audiology and Florida Academy of Audiology. In 2009 she also started AuDBling.com, A Hearing Loss Awareness Company.
She has coauthored professional papers on multichannel cochlear implants and on electrical audiometry in the diagnosis of acoustic neuromas, and she has lectured throughout the state of Florida on hearing loss and hearing therapies.
Dr.Crosby maintains a clinical office at a convenient location south of Sarasota in Englewood, FL.
Karen Draper, AuD
Born and raised in Orlando, Dr. Karen Draper is a native Floridian. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in communication sciences and disorders from the University of Florida in 2003 and her Doctor of Audiology degree in 2007 also from the University of Florida. She is Board Certified in Audiology as well as certified through the American speech, language, and hearing association (ASHA). She is also a member of The American Academy of Audiology. Dr. Draper has over 13 years of clinical experience, most of it at The Silverstein Institute ,where she specialized in tinnitus management and programming implantable hearing systems such as cochlear implants. In addition to full diagnostic hearing and balance evaluations for children and adults, Dr. Draper is experienced in the testing, selection and fitting of hearing aids. In her free time, Dr. Draper enjoys kayaking, biking and most of all spending time with her family.
Keely Huey, AuD
Dr. Keely Huey’s areas of expertise include diagnostic services and aural rehabilitation. With nearly 20 years of audiology experience, Dr. Huey understands the challenging impact of hearing loss and is passionate about helping and empowering individuals to hear better.
Prior to moving to Sarasota with her family in 2015, Dr. Huey worked as a clinical audiologist for 15 years at a hospital in Ohio. She worked closely with the hospital’s Ear, Nose and Throat physicians serving pediatric and adult populations. In this position, Dr. Huey was responsible for developing the hospital’s newborn hearing screen program and diagnostic vestibular program.
Before joining Advanced Hearing Solutions in 2020, Dr. Huey worked for two years at The Silverstein Institute providing comprehensive diagnostic audiology services to adults.
She earned her Doctor of Audiology from the University of Florida and her Master’s of Science degree in Audiology from The University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. Dr. Huey received her Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from the Ohio State University.
Dr. Huey is a clinically certified member of The American Speech Language and Hearing Association. She is licensed by the Florida Board of Audiology.ma
Renee Giordano has been with this clinic and its predecessor for 15 years and became a Licensed Audiologist Assistant back in 2007 allowing her to work directly with patients and to work hand in hand with Dr. Crosby & now Dr. Draper.
Renee also has an associate’s degree in Business Administration which will be put to more use now that she is also the Office Manager. This will help Dr. Crosby with the day to day flow of the office especially when she is out of the office working on her other projects and humanitarian trips. Renee will also be working directly with Dr. Crosby to help support our new local hearing foundation. She is excited to be able to help give the gift of hearing to those who may not be fortunate enough to obtain assistance on their own.
Michael is co owner of Advanced Hearing Solutions with Dr. Crosby. He has been involved in the practice behind the scenes since it’s inception. He is now working in the office assisting with the daily activities.
Patient Care Coordinator
Rhonda Gauthier joined our team in April 2021 to assist with daily office tasks. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Nova University. She was born and raised in Williston, Florida, a small town outside of Gainesville, Florida. She has since moved to Englewood to help care for her elderly Mother In-Law. She has been married over 25 years. In 2000, she and her husband were blessed with identical twin boys. Both sons are actively pursuing the career as professional Fire Fighter/EMT’s employed by Ocala Fire Rescue. Prior to moving to the place many people call Paradise, she taught first grade for 9 years at Williston Central Christian Academy, managed the office for her husband’s lawn service for 24 years, and currently is vice president at RyRo, Inc., her family owned and operated business since 2009. She enjoys spending time with family and friends while on the boat, shopping for the next found bargain, and watching sunsets at the beach. She loves being part of the experience when the gift of hearing is renewed by AHS team.
